Emilia Kuurila is a Finnish fashion and textile designer. She holds a degree from Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture as Master of Arts (2020) from the MA program of Fashion, Clothing and Textile Design.
Throughout her studies and work experience Kuurila has been able to gain experience in both textile (print, woven fabrics and Jacquard, knitwear and embroidery) and fashion. She has worked with both menswear and womenswear but is most interested in materialising sensuality, that is not restricted to any specific shape, gender, texture or colour.
Kuurila has worked at companies such as Saint Laurent, Rolf Ekroth, Terinit and IvanaHelsinki. In 2016 she was selected as one of the semifinalists of H&M Design Award with her BA graduate collection. In 2019 Kuurila was selected as one of the ten fashion finalists in the 34th Hyères International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Fashion Accessories with her MA graduate collection.
